If you were stranded on a desert island, what five people would you eat first?
Submitted by James Poling.
I love the question. Truth is, anyone that I would want to be eaten, I wouldn't want to eat. I'm too much of a gourmand.
What is your favorite ring tone?
Submitted by rach.
Kelly's "Hello, Mo-to" ring tone, which includes strange up tempo synthesized music and a voice that says, "Hell-o, Mo-to" in a weird British / computer voice. I can't help but repeat it when her phone rings. "Hell-o, Mo-to". It's great.
How did you pick your Vox name? Does it mean something?
Submitted by LeendaDLL.
I'm not very 'fisticated -- it's my first name and first initial of my last name. But it's short, alliterative, and gets mileage as a nickname already, so it beats all the other handles I have had over the years (grundig, yeti, smoovvp). When I can catch a service early enough after launch to get it, I choose paulp every time.
If you could be on any reality TV show, which one would you pick and why?
That's easy. I'd join the cast of The Hills and make a name for myself by being the only young person on the show capable of sustaining eye contact*.
It's my variation on a classic formula:
- Establish and maintain eye contact
- ????
- Fame!
Tell us a little something about your first girlfriend/boyfriend.
Ha! You're not catching me in that booby trap!
We're going meta today: What questions would you'd like to see become QoTDs?
- What's the first thing you do when you arrive home each day?
- Are there any words you just don't like? ("Moist" seems to get a lot of people. Right, Cuoco?)
- Tell us all about your crazy uncle.
- What's the most fun you've ever had giving a gift?
- What was your first means of independent transportation?
- What are your favorite everyday smells from your neighborhood, commute or place of work?
- What are three details that make your home different than every other home you know?
Enough brainstorming for me. Hope some of those work out for you, Team Vox.
What's the oldest digital camera photo you have on your computer? When is it from? Let's see it!
This is the first digital photo I took on October 19, 2001 with my Nikon Coolpix 4300.
The real shame is that I celebrated my 21st birthday that October, and despite my interest in photography and my brand new camera, I captured exactly zero pictures of the two and a half days in Vegas I spent with 27 friends. When I think about that I want to kick the 21 year old Paul in the keister.
Moving along... In the "yikes!" department, this was my second photo:
That's Lutz reacting strongly to something.
