I interviewed for a job at Intel in Hillsboro, Oregon in 2002. What I remember: it was a gray, rainy day, the parking lot was enormous, and filled with very small, practical, boring, Japanese cars*, the hallways were long, gray and undecorated, and the people were alert and smart, but totally flavorless. All my interviews were held in the cafeteria. Lunch was provided in the cafeteria. By the time my third interview started, I had very clearly realized that I didn't want the job.
* Not all small, practical Japanese cars are boring.
